Our mission at the American Amputee Society is to actively serve the community through a variety of programs such as social gatherings and adaptive sport that benefit and empower all amputees and community members.

Being an independent organization allows us to represent all amputees, regardless of prosthetic affiliation, without limits.

In our second year, we are focusing on:
  • transitioning from the Houston Amputee Society to American Amputee Society
  • expanding our reputation and vision
  • adaptive sport education
  • and putting people first!

We had such a great time we are doing it again, November 2014. The American Amputee Society is proud to be hosting another Adaptive Skate Event. We have paired up with the HPARD (Houston Parks and Recreation Department) for this event to take place at Lee and Joe Jamail Skate Park. This is a FREE event for all participants. We will have some of the best WCMX and amputee skateboarders from around the nation as well as special guest personalities converge on Houston November 7th-9th. In order to pull this off we will need public assistance raising funds.
